The Enchanting Summer Cirque World at Gaylord Texan

A portal to another dimension, the “Summer Cirque” event sets itself apart, curating a symphony of creativity that stirs the senses and transports audiences to realms beyond imagination.
Where Is Gaylord Texan And Glass Cactus Located?
The Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center sits on Lake Grapevine which is only about 8 minutes from the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
The resort itself offers military and government discounts, but generally, they do not offer discounts for their shows and events such as ICE!, Summer of Cirque show, or concerts. Be sure to check their website for more info though.
The Glass Cactus is located on their property and sits on Lake Grapevine overlooking the lake. On regular days guests can dine outside on the patio or indoors, depending on your preference, and weather (it’s common to reach multiple days of 100-plus degree heat in the summer). But again be sure to check with the schedule by visiting their website.
A Glimpse into the Summer Cirque Spectacular Performances
The Glass Cactus hosts the Summer Cirque show along with other events throughout the week. In the last year, we have been to this show 4 times, and usually, they change up the show to keep it entertaining, oftentimes with new performers or acts.
The Glass Cactus is a fairly small building so when you’re booking your tickets it’s something to keep in mind. There really are no “bad” seats, although they do have an upper level you can opt to get tickets for.
The show features daring acrobatics, doggie “hoop-rope,” and a story about a boy wanting to become a pirate, dueling it out along his adventure.

When we see shows or concerts there we generally stick with the lower level because it’s more of a straight on view. You can opt for the upper level seating if you wish, but we found that the lower level seats are the best with the most straight on view and experience since the room isn’t that big.
In the back there is a small gift booth along with a bar where you can order snacks like caramel popcorn, cotton candy, beverages, and adult drinks.
Most days they have several shows, and more on the weekends, but be sure to check the schedule for upcoming events. One thing that we do is get our tickets for an early evening/late afternoon show, usually around 3pm or 4pm, then drive over to the main resort parking garage to walk around the resort and have dinner.
The Glass Cactus is actually less than 100 yards away from the parking garage, but for the summer months you may want to drive if you’re not staying at the Texan or dining there due to the extreme heat. Plus the parking garage is pretty big.
